What to expect
You'll be collected between 3 and 3:30 am for the 2.5-hour drive north to Lovina. The shared wooden boat departs before dawn; dolphins usually appear within the first hour as light breaks. Seas can be choppy—hold on and bring a towel. Back on land, Banyumala requires walking down steps and wading; wear water shoes. Wanagiri is less strenuous, mostly viewpoint stops with photo ops. The temple is serene and photogenic but crowded mid-morning. Lunch follows at a local restaurant. Expect six to seven hours door-to-door, with travel time dominating the itinerary.
Good to know
Early start means a 3 am pickup. Bring seasickness tablets if prone. Dolphin sightings aren't guaranteed but likely. Wear layers—mornings are cool at sea. Sun protection essential. The waterfall involves wading; leave valuables in the car. Photography restrictions apply at the temple.
