What to expect
You'll start early and drive into the Chulilla gorge, parking near the trailhead. The hike follows a well-marked path that climbs and descends through the canyon, crossing several rope-and-wood bridges spanning water-filled gaps. You'll pass dense woodland, open ridges with panoramic views, and eventually reach the reservoir where the water's brilliant blue stands out against rust-red rock. The walk is steady rather than technical—uneven ground and some scrambling, but no rope work or exposure. After the hike, you'll visit Chulilla village to rest and eat before heading back to Valencia.
