About this tour
Explore four of Cinque Terre's five clifftop villages in a single day from Pisa. You'll travel by private minivan to the first settlement, then switch to ferry or train to island-hop along this UNESCO-listed stretch of Liguria's coast. Your guide handles navigation and logistics whilst you soak in the coloured houses, terraced vineyards, and Mediterranean light that have drawn artists here for centuries. Nine hours total.
Highlights
- Four villages across Cinque Terre's UNESCO coastline
- Ferry-boat passage between towns (weather dependent)
- Private minivan from Pisa with air conditioning
- Dedicated guide for the full day
- Train backup if sea conditions turn rough
What to expect
You'll depart Pisa by comfortable minivan, arriving at the first village by mid-morning. From there, you'll board a ferry weaving between the remaining three settlements—the sea route shows you why these hamlets clung to these cliffs. Each stop gives you time to wander narrow lanes, peer into local shops, and grab a coffee or gelato. If weather closes the ferry service, the coastal train becomes your transport; it's slower but equally scenic. Walking between sights within each village is modest; you're not trekking ridges or climbing trails. Lunch is yours to choose and pay for locally. Wear proper shoes—cobblestones are unforgiving.
Good to know
Ferry and train tickets (roughly £30 per adult) are separate. Children's fares scale by age. Infants sit on your lap unless you arrange a specialist seat in advance. Not suitable if you have spinal issues or significant mobility challenges. Coastal weather can ground ferries; check conditions beforehand and stay flexible.
