About this tour

A four-hour private drive along Italy's most dramatic coastal road, threading past clifftop villages and hidden settlements carved into the limestone. Travel between Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello in a climate-controlled Mercedes with an English-speaking driver, stopping to explore the towns that define the Amalfi Coast's steep, sculptural landscape. No set itinerary—your driver shapes the route around what catches your eye.

Highlights

  • Clifftop villages perched above turquoise water
  • Private Mercedes with air conditioning and onboard WiFi
  • English-speaking driver handles all navigation
  • Stop wherever the view demands a photograph
  • Route covers Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello
  • Suitable for families with prams or infant seats

What to expect

The drive itself is the main event. You'll spiral along a narrow ribbon of asphalt that hugs the cliffs, with sheer drops to one side and whitewashed towns climbing the other. The driver knows the bends and can point out the best viewpoints without rushing. Allow time to wander through Positano's pastel-coloured streets, pick your way down to Amalfi's main square, or take in Ravello's perched-eagle perspective. The road is genuinely stunning, but it's winding—bring motion-sickness tablets if you're prone. Lunch isn't included, though you'll have time to eat in any of the three towns.

Good to know

Wear sunscreen and bring water. The road is narrow and busy in summer; an early-morning departure beats midday crowds. Infant seats and pram facilities are available. Steep walking between car parks and viewpoints is unavoidable in places—wear proper shoes.
