What to expect
Tom's day started with an air-conditioned drive from KL—smooth enough, though the road winds steeply towards the end. Once at Genting, the layout is spread out, so you'll do a fair bit of walking between the theme park, cable car station, and shopping precinct. The cable car experience is genuinely scenic; visibility depends on weather, but even on a hazy day, the canopy-level views are worth the ride. SkyWorlds has rides for all nerve levels, though queues build fast if you hit peak times. The mall-shopping vibe at SkyAvenue feels more functional than charming—handy for grabbing lunch or a souvenir, less so for browsing.
