About this tour
Spend six and a half hours exploring Ischia's secluded coves aboard a traditional wooden boat departing from Forio. The shared voyage stops at five or six swimming spots—including Citara, Punta Chiarito and the quieter Scarrupata—before anchoring for a freshly caught lunch served on deck. Afternoon sailing takes you past the dramatic Aragonese Castle, finishing in either San Montano or San Francesco Bay. Wine, water and local hospitality come with the ticket.
Highlights
- Five to six pristine swimming stops around Ischia's coastline
- Wood-fired lunch of locally caught fish prepared on board
- Close-up views of the iconic Aragonese Castle from the water
- Complimentary wine and soft drinks throughout the day
- Small-group sailing with English and Italian-speaking skipper
- Sheltered bays perfect for floating and snorkelling
What to expect
You'll board a sturdy wooden boat built for around 25 passengers at Forio harbour in the morning. The skipper navigates to each bay, giving you time to jump in and drift around crystal-water inlets before moving to the next spot. Around midday the boat slows and lunch appears—fresh fish grilled on a portable setup, eaten communally on deck with wine flowing freely. The afternoon leg takes you closer to Ischia's famous castle ruin before dropping anchor in a final bay for a last swim. Expect salt, sun, and the company of other keen swimmers rather than polished restaurant service.
Good to know
Bring swimwear, sunscreen, towel and sunglasses—not provided. Six toilet stops are available throughout the day. The boat ride suits most fitness levels but isn't suitable for those with serious heart or mobility concerns. Babies and toddlers can travel in a pram. Public transport is accessible nearby.
