About this tour
Spend a day in Todi learning metalwork fundamentals from a skilled jeweller. You'll work with eight grammes of sterling silver to craft a single piece—ring, earrings or pendant—using traditional techniques like annealing, texturing and soldering. The seven-hour session gives you hands-on practice with heat, metal and design choices, walking away with something you've genuinely made rather than bought.
Highlights
- Shape and solder your own silver jewellery from scratch
- Choose from multiple surface textures for personal style
- Eight grammes of quality silver provided per person
- Learn annealing, texturing and joining techniques
- Leave with a finished wearable piece same day
- Small-group setting with individual guidance
- Fully wheelchair accessible studio and grounds
What to expect
You'll start with a safety briefing and introduction to the tools and furnace. Your jeweller will demonstrate each technique—how to heat silver without damaging it, how to texture the surface with stamps or hammers, and how to join pieces with solder. Then you'll work at your own pace, experimenting with your chosen textures and form. Expect some trial and error; that's part of learning. By mid-afternoon you'll have a polished, finished piece ready to wear. Bring an apron or wear clothes you don't mind getting metal dust on.
Good to know
Lunch is not included; bring a packed meal or eat in town beforehand. The studio is near public transport and fully accessible. All surfaces and work areas accommodate wheelchairs. Service animals welcome. No previous crafting experience needed.
