About this tour
Traverse Mount Etna's south flank to north-east ridge on a full-suspension e-bike, covering nearly 100 kilometres of off-road terrain in seven-and-a-half hours. Certified nature guides lead you through shifting volcanic landscape—lava fields, sparse vegetation, rocky outcrops—explaining the mountain's geology, botany and wildlife as you ride. Modern e-bikes (Mondraker, KTM, Cannondale) handle the technical sections; you pedal when it matters.

- E-bike suspension tackles volcanic rock and loose ground
- Certified guides decode geology, plants, wildlife

What to expect
You'll start at the Etna south cable-car point and transfer to the trailhead. The ride is almost entirely unpaved—volcanic terrain, steep descents, rocky pitches—broken by flatter stretches through sparse scrub. The landscape shifts as you climb and traverse: black lava, sparse alpine shrubs, then patches of Sicilian pine and birch. Your guide stops regularly to point out geological features, endemic plants and volcanic history. The e-motor assists on climbs; technical skill and fitness matter more than engine power. Bring water and snacks; lunch can be organised at a mountain restaurant for an extra fee.
