About this tour
Sail around Syracuse's Ortigia island at sunset, taking in centuries of fortifications and natural landmarks from the water. This 3-hour circuit loops past the Bourbon-era prison, Vigliena and Maniace castles, Spanish defensive walls, and the Aretusa spring before heading to the Plemmirio reserve and its Gulf of Pillirina. You'll get commentary on what you're seeing, bathroom breaks ashore, and a steady flow of prosecco, wine, and water to sip as the light changes.

What to expect
You'll board a boat and motor slowly around Ortigia's perimeter, with your guide pointing out military structures and natural features as you pass them. Expect a calm, unhurried cruise—this isn't a speed run. The water side gives you angles on castles and walls you won't see from land. Partway through, you'll head out to Plemmirio, a protected marine area with a different feel: rockier, wilder, less built-up. Throughout, drinks flow: water, prosecco, wine in red and white. There are proper stops where you can use facilities onshore.
Good to know
Infants must sit on an adult's lap. The boat works for all fitness levels—you're sitting the whole time. Service animals are welcome. Public transport is nearby if you need alternatives. Tips aren't included in the price.
