Ride a Cannondale e-mountain bike from Rome's ancient Appian Way through the Caffarella Valley and Aqueduct Park, then train up to the papal hilltop town of Castel Gandolfo. What to expect
Your guide will lead you through the rolling Roman countryside on e-bikes equipped with suspension and puncture-resistant tyres. The morning involves steady pedalling through archaeological sites and green valleys, with the electric assist easing climbs. Mid-morning you'll board a regional train heading southeast to Castel Gandolfo, where narrow cobbled streets open onto the lake. Lunch is a proper sit-down affair at a local trattoria overlooking the water. The afternoon is mostly downhill, following the ancient Roman road through woodland. Muddy sections can get technical after rain.
