About this tour
Descend Val Bodengo's river gorge in Gordona over five hours, navigating white water, natural rock slides, and vertical drops via abseil and jump. You'll scramble through the streambed past cascading waterfalls, tackle swims in pools, and rappel stretches of up to 25 metres. The guide handles all safety kit and coaching—jumps and major abseils are optional, with bypass routes available for any section that doesn't appeal.
Highlights
- Abseil down 5–25 metre rock faces with experienced guide support
- Natural rock slides polished smooth by centuries of water flow
- Jump into deep pools from 1–12 metres—optional, not mandatory
- Wade and swim through white water sections of the gorge
- Neoprene suit and specialist footwear provided for grip and warmth
What to expect
The tour follows the river from top to bottom, mixing technical rope work with scrambling and swimming. You'll abseil down repeating rock walls, some slightly overhanging, with the guide either securing you or coaching independent descents depending on experience. Between rappel points, you'll hike the riverbed across slippery stones, duck under spray, and wade through cold pools. Natural slides offer adrenaline without ropes. Swimming distances are manageable; jumping is encouraged but never forced—guides can rig alternative routes around any passage. Bring high fitness and readiness for cold water and exposure.
