What to expect
You'll be collected from your accommodation and driven to Sacred Monkey Forest first, where you can walk among macaques and Hindu shrines set into the jungle canopy and a dramatic gorge. The palace visit is quieter—mostly exterior viewing and grounds exploration. Tegalalang demands a short walk across the working rice paddies; it's muggy underfoot and sloped. After lunch, the final stop at Tegenungan involves a short scramble to a natural pool edged by ferns and rock. Total activity is moderate; the tour paces itself with transport breaks.
Good to know
Wear smart-casual clothes and sturdy footwear for wet terrain. Bring high-SPF sunscreen and a camera—the light through the rice terraces and waterfall spray creates strong shadows. Not advisable if you have cardiovascular concerns. Vegetarian meals available on request. Under-2s travel free.
