About this tour

Set sail from Cannes Old Port aboard a restored 8-metre Jeanneau to Sainte-Marguerite Island in the Lérins archipelago. Your skipper shares genuine sailing expertise while you help handle the boat or simply relax on deck. Anchor for a Provençal spread—homemade tzatziki, fresh vegetables, anchovies and rosé—then swim and snorkel in transparent waters before returning to the Bay of Cannes. Five to six hours total.

Highlights

  • 8-metre vintage sailboat, hands-on sailing participation optional
  • Sainte-Marguerite Island and the Lérins archipelago approach
  • Anchored picnic with homemade sauces and local rosé wine
  • Snorkel and swim in clear Mediterranean waters
  • Towels and dive masks provided

What to expect

You'll depart from Cannes Old Port (or Théoule-sur-Mer in early September) and motor-sail out to the Lérins islands. The skipper invites you to actively trim sails and steer if interested, or you can simply observe and soak up the coast. Lunch happens at anchor or dockside—vegetables, anchovies, homemade tzatziki, rosé wine. The afternoon splits between swimming, snorkelling the seabed with supplied masks, and cruising the bay. Expect sun exposure, moderate physical demands, and the motion of a small sailboat. You'll need to be a competent swimmer.

Good to know

Bring your own sunscreen and seasickness medication if prone. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets accommodated with notice. Minimum moderate fitness required; not suitable for weak cardiovascular health. July and August see crowded anchorages. Rosé included for over-18s only. Public transport available to the port.
