What to expect
You'll board a modern speedboat and head south along Tropea's limestone cliffs toward the Capo Vaticano promontory. The crew will cut engines at least twice, dropping anchor in turquoise shallows where you can swim freely and use provided snorkelling gear to check the underwater rock formations. Expect a relaxed pace—this isn't a white-knuckle ride, just efficient movement between spots. As light softens toward dusk, you'll sip prosecco and eat small bites while watching the sun lower behind the cape. Return journey heads back north as darkness falls.
Good to know
Bring a rash vest or light cover if you burn easily; awning provides shade but not complete protection. Snorkelling gear is basic but functional. Not suitable if you have heart or circulation problems. Infants must sit with a parent. Bring a towel and dry clothes in a waterproof bag.
