About this tour

Descend Codula Fuili, one of Sardinia's most dramatic limestone canyons, in a 5-hour adventure through water-carved passages and soaring rock walls. Starting in the Supramonte plateau, you'll rappel down sections up to 20 metres, squeeze through narrow gorges, and emerge at the wild sweep of Cala Fuili beach for a swim in the crystalline Gulf of Orosei. Suitable for beginners aged 8 and up who are reasonably fit.

Highlights

  • Rappel 20-metre rock faces with full safety gear
  • Navigate tunnels carved by millennia of running water
  • Scramble through bottlenecks between limestone walls
  • Finish at secluded Cala Fuili beach
  • Ancient erosion patterns and native vegetation throughout
  • Guided by experienced canyon specialists

What to expect

You'll move at a steady pace, sometimes walking, sometimes climbing over smooth stone worn by water. The canyon narrows and widens unpredictably—expect tight passages where you'll need to duck and twist sideways, then sudden openings where the walls tower overhead. Each rappel is managed with harness, helmet and guide support; the longest drops are manageable for anyone comfortable with heights. Water flows year-round, so footholds stay wet and require care. By late morning you'll reach the beach, where cold seawater feels earned.

Good to know

Bring a second pair of shoes for grip on wet stone, or go barefoot. Avoid this trip if you have heart conditions, are pregnant, or struggle with heights. Children under 8 aren't suitable. Start early—the canyon holds cold water and darkness comes fast.
