What to expect

You'll be collected from your accommodation and driven to Alcantara Park. After gearing up in wetsuit, helmet, and life jacket, your instructor leads you into the gorge itself. Expect to move through the river actively—not sitting in a boat but using your body to navigate cold water, rock slides, and hidden pools. The basalt walls tower vertically; the passages narrow. You'll float, climb gently, and swim short sections. It's physically engaging but managed at a steady pace.
