What to expect
You'll meet your pilot at the launch point, get suited into a harness connected to the paraglider, and after a brief safety briefing, you'll run together off a gentle slope. The initial acceleration is brief—then you're airborne. Your instructor reads the air for lift, spiralling into thermals to gain altitude whilst you simply sit in the harness and look around. The sensation is weightless and surprisingly quiet. Most of the flight involves holding altitude or gentle descents whilst scanning the gardens below: the medieval towers, overgrown walkways, lily ponds. Landing is smooth, controlled, and happens in a designated field.
Good to know
Weight limits are 30–105kg. Pregnant travellers should skip this. Those with heart conditions or poor cardiovascular health aren't suitable. Minors need written consent from both parents. Service animals can attend (presumably at the landing zone). Public transport reaches the departure point.
